The film it self was awesome! It started off quite slow as Nick Fury gathered the team together but it soon picked up when the characters started to meet each other.
All the heroes had a good amount of screen time, I was impressed with Mark Ruffalo's portrayal of Bruce Banner. He had the softly spoken slightly nerdy attitude about him and was instantly likeable, and he really made you feel for him when he couldn't control his temper any longer and Hulked out! Scarlett Johanssen was good as The Black Widow as well, which surprised me. She was much better in this film than in Iron Man 2, perhaps due to having a better script to work from. The big fight scene at the end of the film is amazing! Hulk kicks ass. As with any Joss Whedon script there's plenty of humour, and the Hulk gets alot of the best bits and in many ways steals the film. It's the best treatment of the Hulk on film so far and any scene he's in is great to watch. There's a sequence where the Avengers are battling the aliens as the camera pans from hero to hero as they fight to save Manhattan, it is a glorious moment in a film full of moments like this. Oh, and mid through the end credits there's an extra scene so stay tuned for that. I wont spoil it by telling you what happens, but any fan boy will enjoy it, but would probably be lost on anyone who doesn't read comic books much.As you can probably tell I loved this film. I could watch this time and time again and nether get bored of it. Takes a while to get going but then it just builds and builds to the crescendo of the final fight scene. Avengers Assemble rocks! Nuff said.
